A Sweet and Gentle Black Smoke
Kristolin Dandy is a beautiful black smoke European Maine Coon whose coat changed dramatically as he matured. Like many black smoke Maine Coons, he passed through lighter phases before developing his final rich adult coat.
Beneath his striking appearance is a wonderfully sweet personality. Dandy was gentle with the females in our program and brought a calm, affectionate presence to our cattery.
Although he is now retired, Dandy remains an important part of the history and lineage of Smoky Mountain Maine Coons.

The Transformation of a Black Smoke Coat
Black smoke Maine Coons can change dramatically as they grow and mature.
During development, a black smoke Maine Coon may temporarily appear much lighter—sometimes almost silver or white—before the mature adult coat develops. The photographs below capture several different phases of Dandy's striking transformation.
His bright undercoat and darker outer coat created the dramatic contrast that makes black smoke Maine Coons so distinctive.

available in our records because comprehensive panels became part of our

appropriate cardiac evaluation.
